About Amanda

With over twenty years of experience in the mental health field and having worked with some of the most challenging clinical populations; inpatient substance abuse, mandated domestic violence offenders and in-home therapy for at-risk youth; I bring a unique perspective to the therapy room.  I utilize a blend of humor, warmth and compassion while making direct and honest observations of the issues that are most pressing and typically the most difficult to discuss. I am a solution-focused therapist who utilizes both behavioral and cognitive behavioral techniques to facilitate change and growth in my clients.  My diverse clinical background as a therapist, a clinical supervisor and most recently as the Manager of Clinical Services at Family Centers has exposed me to a wide range of clients coping with varying issues; including anxiety, depression, stress management, marital conflict, divorce, parent-child conflict, critical illness and bereavement.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Connecticut.  I am currently in Private Practice in Fairfield, CT.

Treatment Approach

I view therapy as something to be enjoyed - at least some of the time!  It shouldn't feel like an obligation or something to be dreaded or avoided.  You should like the person you are seeing and feel motivated and energized by the work you are doing together.  I believe in the power of the relationship to enact change and I focus on developing a solid foundation of trust and mutual respect with my clients.  I thoroughly enjoy the work that I do with each person and the bond that is developed when two people are working toward a common goal.
